Dear EYS families,

Welcome to the postseason tournament!

The regular season wrapped up Saturday with games at Tier Ten Sports in Spencer, and it was fantastic to see all the support EYS players received. I know the whistles and buzzers caused some confusion at times, but the kids adjusted well, and I’m incredibly proud of how competitive all the games were.

I’m also very pleased the with officiating and how the kids adjusted to the tighter calls. You can expect the same level of officiating throughout the tournament, and in future seasons, I believe the players will be held to the same high standards from the start of the year instead of calls getting progressively tighter.

I also thank so many parents and family members who made it a point to come up to me to make positive comments about the officiating. The compliments were greatly appreciated and passed on to our officials.

The brackets for our single-elimination tournament games starting this weekend have been posted. Some teams may have to play more than one game in a day during the tournament, and we have actively worked to limit the amount of time families will have between games. However, we also aren’t asking players to play back-to-back games, leaving at least an hour of recovery time between games.

They are posted at the links below:

K-1 Leagues

2-3 Leagues

4-5 Leagues

A couple of quick notes:

Practices scheduled for EIS Monday (Dec. 4)-Thursday (Dec. 7) will be held at Tier Ten Sports due to the unavailability of the EIS gym. Practices scheduled for EPS will be at EPS as planned.

Additionally, team and player pictures are now available from Paul Turner Photography. Follow this link to find your favorite player and team.

Also, the monthly EYS Board Meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Ellettsville Town Hall. The public is invited and encouraged to join us.

I also encourage you to volunteer to help EYS. This is a perfect time to join us as we start planning for the 2024 baseball and softball seasons, and it will allow you to shape the future of Ellettsville Youth Sports.

Let me know if you have any questions – feedback is always welcome and encouraged – and good luck in the tournament!
