The Red Wings are named for the Rochester Red Wings, a Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals based in Rochester, New York. The team was founded in 1899 are is the oldest continuously operating sports franchise in North America below the major league level.
The team became known as the Red Wings in 1929 when they became an affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The name has stuck ever since. The team features two mascots, Spikes and Mittsy. Spikes is the mascot who appears on team hats.
The Red Wings are one of only two teams to appear in just one EYS league, playing in our Rookie league.

Ellettsville Youth Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to provide a fun yet competitive youth sports program that promotes the development of the athletic skills, leadership skills, character, and sportsmanship of youth of Ellettsville, Indiana and the surrounding communities.
